I find creating functional and decorative handmade pottery a labor of love. Each time I sit down at the wheel, I'm embarking
on a new adventure. Sometimes it's stretching the limits of the clay, bringing
form and life to a new shape or design inspired by my surroundings. At other
times it's trying to capture the ever changing colors of the Ozarks in my glazes.
And when the clay gets a mind of its own, I let it take me where it will, and
am never disappointed with the results. Passionately, I explore the possibilities of clay and hope to pass the same passion on to you, the eventual user of my pottery. Pottery can be handsomely displayed on a shelf, table, vanity, in fact anywhere. There's nothing like eating salad served in a pottery bowl, or enjoying the feel of a pottery mug in your hands as you sip coffee or tea. Displaying flowers from your garden in a unique vase, or something as simple as dropping earrings, keys or pocket change into a trinkiet box adds a little something extra to the day. In addition to decorative pottery, I make a variety of functional pieces, including bowls, serving dishes, casseroles, pitchers, vases, and covered jars, etc. Multiple layers of glaze are applied, enhancing the forms and decorations. My work is displayed at my studio just north of Flippin in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in the north central part of Arkansas. Enjoy the site. I hope to hear from you. Deanne (Dee) Miller |
